SO MUCH TROUBLE IN THE WORLD

Will Dumbledore be crucified in the end?

Everybody seems to love Harry Potter.

I must admit that these books are not my cup of tea.

Two or three weeks before the official midnight July 21st release date of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", there were several blogs and web sites that claimed to have advanced copies of the book. A few even went so far as to publish what they said was the final chapter of the anticipated seventh installment.

Needless to say, these blogs experienced incredible traffic due to the popularity of the Harry Potter series.

I felt that I needed to top this publicity stunt in order to drum up some additional web traffic on my blog.

But where could I find a book more popular than the Harry Potter finale?

Think Peter ... think.

Think dammit!

Got it!

Into the arms of God.

I have never been a fan of evangelists. I believe they often are hypocrites and take advantage of the poor and weak for their own enrichment.

I have blogged about scumbags like Ted Haggart in the past.

Reverend Robert Tilton, Oral Roberts, Jimmy Swaggart and the many other "televangelists" of this world have always made me sick to my stomach.

I must admit that I was not a big fan of this woman's previous husband Jim Bakker and their PTL ministry, but I always felt that Tammy Faye had a good heart.

However, I was shocked to see the pain that Tammy went through before her death Friday.

If you ever doubted the effect that cancer can have on the human body, you may want to take a look at these two clips. The second one is from a Larry King show this month.

Why can't someone like Benny Hinn be subjected to this instead?
(This above link is part 1 of 4 and well worth watching)

I hope that God is in Heaven to welcome her with open arms.

She certainly deserves some peace.

I'll wait for the Barabbas & Pontus Pilot playset

Early next month, 425 Wal-Mart chain stores nationwide will begin carrying faith-based toys from One2believe.

One2believe is an innovative toy company that is ministry partners with Focus on the Family and Opus Dei. They specifically target born again parents who would much rather that their kids play with a Samson action figure than a Spider-Man action figure.

These parents can buy the "big man" himself.

If money is no object for junior's Christmas, you can go out and purchase the entire nativity scene.

Or if you want two overly muscular guys wrestling with each other in a homo-erotic pose (Pictured below), you can get that too.

(They are actually Samson* and the nine foot Philistine warrior Goliath*)

*Sold separately and scale completely ignored.

In case you think they left the girls out, you are dead wrong.

For the girls they have created the P31 series. P31 dolls are specifically designed to provide a Bible-based, Christian alternative to other secular toys on the market (like the notorious Bratz Dolls), and to encourage young girls to pursue biblical womanhood.

This is the lovely and creepy Elizabeth P31**.

**Also available in the homegirl version.

Elisabeth stands 18 inches tall, has beautiful empty eyes, long blonde hair, and a contemporary Christian outfit. Elisabeth comes complete with an accessory kit, containing a Bible lesson (based on Proverbs 31:20), two cookie-cutters, and a cookie recipe (Pictured below). She also comes complete with a list of exciting activities like abstinence, getting on her knees and self flagellation.

But don't worry boys and girls.

For those of you who like to play with the other kind of toys ... Wal-Mart has provided another "back to school" sale just an aisle away***.

***Strict limit of 5 boxes per customer.

Money can't buy everything

... like a name that won't make people giggle.

Forbes Magazine just released their list of billionaires under the age of 40.

Clocking in at age 35 with 1.6 billion dollars is this man (Pictured below)

His name is Anurag Dikshit.

You can't make this dikshit up.

Waiting on a friend

I am not really very interested in politics, relationships or this blog right now. In fact, I am not very interested in anything but seeing my best friend get completely better.

My cat Manhattan just turned thirteen last March. She has suddenly, and without warning, stopped eating anything.

Last week, I took her to the Animal Hospital in the borough that shares her name. For the modest fee of $1200.00, they hydrated her with electrolyte fluid during an overnight stay and informed me that she definitely has an over-active thyroid condition.

However, as you can see from this website, hyperthyroidism will cause excessive thyroid hormone in the blood stream and it will speed up most chemical reactions in the body. This includes increased appetite and increased thirst.

Although she had exhibited some of those warning signs in the past, as of the end of last week all her interest in food and water is gone.

If any of you have any experience with cats, and have seen this problem please let me know. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
