Our Scarlet-X Arrives

I was especially happy to see the FedEx guy today.

The Wolves Den welcomes a new arrival.

Lucky to be in the first 500.

Adoption PSA

Last Sunday, we completed a PSA shoot in a NYC playground, on 96th and Lexington Ave. The project was written and directed by Jason Letkiewicz. We shot with a cast and crew of 45-50 people (most volunteering their time) and a single Red One MX camera.

Here is a still from the shoot.

Trooper Needs a Home

This afternoon, I stopped into a Petco located on the north side of Union Square. In the back of this store, they regularly have fifteen to twenty cats looking for a new home.

There is always a nice selection of cats to play with, but today they had one cage with a beautiful little kitten named Trooper. As you can see from these pictures, he is very sad to be stuck in a cage.

If you are looking to adopt a cat, you would be hard-pressed to find one as wonderful as Trooper.

I'm quite sure that it would make him very happy to find a permanent home and a new friend.

Petco is located at 860 Broadway. What are you waiting for??

Dogs Rule

I came across this very cool dog while I was looking at apartments for sale on Sutton Place in Manhattan.

He was just relaxing outside of a small cafe waiting for his owner.

While on the subject, here is definitive proof that dogs have feelings and miss their owners.

RIP for a fellow Manhattanite

The Westboro Baptist Church, made famous by protesting the funerals of fallen American servicemen and victims of AIDS, has just recently spoken out on the passing of Heath Ledger.

Misfit or Misinformed?

A couple of days ago I saw one of the young girls from Yeshiva University (Stern College for Women) wearing this exact T-shirt to class.

The term "joy division" referred to the Nazi name for concentration camp brothels during World War II.

Love will tear her apart ... if her fellow students don't first.

Eating out in NYC

Special thanks goes out to the frisky sushi chef at Imperial Garden for this "Sunday Giggle" contribution.

I don’t even want to know what is in the Volcano Roll.

Even though Imperial Garden is a Chinese restaurant, they have a sushi bar in their small dining room. I don’t think there is enough difference between Japanese and Chinese to call it fusion cuisine. I think they are just trying to hedge their bets.

Now I have to try to talk them into offering nyotaimori.

Bon appetite you cheeky monkeys!

Fashion Week ends ... Thank God

I spent most of last week at one fashion show after another.

We were filming several of the shows for a French film company.

You can easily tell the sexuality of every man at a fashion show.

If he is looking at the clothes ... Gay
If he is looking at the girls ... Straight

On Saturday it was Lacoste and Y3 by Yamamoto.

On Monday it was Alberta Ferretti
(Beautiful models and excellent music*)
*Check out "Someone Great" by LCD Soundsystem
-available at itunes-

In my humble opinion*, I would have gone for "North American Scum" (Kris Menace Remix) by LCD Soundsystem instead.
-also available at itunes on the North American Scum EP-
It has a much better beat for the thumping heeled hooves of teenage girls.
*Disclaimer ... This is coming from someone who calls fashion rocking a pair of Levis 501s and a white button down Ralph Lauren shirt.

And to round out the good times ... on the night of September 11th, for my birthday, I had unpleasant honor of sitting through the Just Sweet show.

For those of you who are fortunate enough not to know, Just Sweet is Jennifer Lopez's new line of "clothing".

This show was so tacky, that I had trouble even concentrating on the beautiful women. You really had to feel sorry for the young girls that had to wear this stuff.

The one exception was most likely this model (Pictured below)

I think the photographer standing next to me must have taken this shot.

Jennifer showed her ass once again with this line of garbage.

Then again ... with a stud muffin like Marc Anthony as a husband ... how can you go wrong?

I love these two youtube clips from the 2006 and 2007 fashion weeks done by local comedian Dave Hill.

Funny stuff.

HEROES & VILLAINS

As a native New Yorker, I must say that I was really moved by today’s cover of the New York Daily News. (Pictured Below)

Ceasar Borja Jr, the brave son of a New York City policeman, is asking President Bush to address the issue of chronic sickness developing in Ground Zero workers who courageously responded after the events of 09/11/2001. We all know how George Bush likes to wrap himself up in that date like it’s his personal security blanket.

Ceasar’s father finally died from pulmonary fibrosis less than three hours before his son was to attend President Bush's State of the Union address as the guest of Sen. Hillary Clinton.

"I just want the President to look in my face and see how important it is that we get help," 21-year-old Ceasar Borja Jr. told Daily News reporters yesterday. "I want him to hear how my father died a hero, and how there are many other heroes who are continuing to die and who need help."

Last night a Bush spokesman said the White House is "aware of the request" but has not agreed to a meeting.

For those of you who do not know, many New Yorkers are very sick after the September 11th collapse of the WTC towers. Many response workers who desperately dug the ground looking for their friends and co-workers are now experiencing mysterious lung problems. As many as 14,000 people who worked there after the attacks have reported breathing problems. However, the sickness is not exclusive to the men and women on the debris pile. For example, the students at nearby Stuyvesant High School are also developing asthma at an alarming rate.

Ground Zero symptoms can include, coughing, wheezing, and sore throat. Over the years, many WTC workers, and downtown residents discovered that these symptoms have eventually developed into lung disease and in some cases, caused irreversible lung scarring and even death.

The air at Ground Zero contained toxic dust, pulverized (alkaline) cement, glass fibers, chemicals, fumes, asbestos and other toxic elements and was inhaled by all who were present. These airborne particles (Pictured below) entered the respiratory tract.

Volunteer workers and residents of lower Manhattan were lied to about the quality of the air following September 11th, 2001. A report showed that the White House had "convinced EPA to add reassuring statements and delete cautionary ones" by having the National Security Council control EPA communications after the September 11 attacks

A key player, who was guilty of knowingly spreading these lies to the public, is Christie Todd Whitman. Whitman was appointed by Bush as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency in January of 2001.

1) As head of the EPA, she challenged the validity of a government-commissioned report suggesting a human contribution to global warming.

2) Whitman appeared twice in New York City after the September 11 attacks to inform New Yorkers that the toxins released by the attacks posed no threat to their health.

The key word in Environmental Protection Agency is PROTECTION Christie. You protect both the environment from us (Exxon, Bush family, etc.) ... and us from the enviornment (Toxic dust, asbestos, etc.).

That sounds easy enough ... doesn't it?

To her credit, I guess it makes the job a lot harder when you are deep in someone's pocket.

Leave it to a broad from NJ to fuck up NYC and it's residents. We can only thank God that she retired to "spend more time with her family". I just hope, for her children's sake, that she can handle the sippy cups.

If this bitch were hit by a crosstown bus tomorrow, I would smile like the Cheshire Cat.

I think we can all look to this young man as an example of honor and bravery. I am not a very religious person, but I firmly believe that wherever his dad is, he is very proud of his son. I am quite sure that Ceasar Borja Sr. is looking down on his boy with a big smile, and realizes that his son has now become a man.

King Herod had the right idea

Today I spent some time trying to pick up some of the dozens of gifts I have to buy this holiday season. I have not felt well these past few days, so I am in a choice mood right now. This might explain my behavior later in the post.

I would have thought that Christmas shopping on December 2nd would give me chance to beat the massive crowds ... but NOOOooooooo!

As I made my way to the uptown location of Brooks Brothers, I found out that Fifth Avenue was absolute madness! I mean it was wall-to-wall tourists. If there is one thing that native New Yorkers hate more than anything ... it's oblivious tourists.

They spend all their time looking up at the tall buildings ... taking pictures ... and eating street food. No matter how hard you try to avoid them ... THE WALK RIGHT INTO YOU!

ARGH #%@$#!

Amidst this sea of tourists was this one woman pushing her ... not one ... not two ... but three kids in a triple wide stroller (Pictured Below). I saw her coming half a block away, and I knew instantly she was a mega bitch. She was not using this stroller as a transportation device for her kids, but as a blocking sled to make her way through the crowds. I saw her clip two people ... one badly ... and she was hurtling right towards me.

Despite the masses, she was looking straight down at her rug rats, so I made a move to my right to get out of her way. Without warning, she suddenly turned straight into me and slammed the stroller right into shins. Without a pause, she looked straight at me and snarled, "Why don't you look where you are going?"

Most of you who know me, know that I a fairly nice and patient person. But at this very moment, the gloves were coming off. I quickly responded, "Lady, if you don't watch where the fuck YOU are going, someone like myself is going to shove that stroller right up your ass ... piece by piece."

She was stunned. She quickly turned and sped away.

I must admit ... this made my day. I turned ... dropped a dollar into the Salvation Army pot on the corner and whistled the rest of my way to Brooks Brothers.

This is my home and I love NY!
