They did it all for the nookie
I have always been a big fan of Greek mythology, and the literary classics like Homer's Iliad and Odyssey. Many of the common themes found in our everyday lives can be found in the pages of these great works of literature.
In this time of great violence in the Middle East, I have been racking my brain in an effort to find a final solution. One idea I had was to follow the example set in one of Aristophanes’ theatrical comedies entitled “Lysistrata”.
In “Lysistrata” the beautiful women of the warring city-states of Greece agree to withhold sexual favors with their husbands until they agree to cease fighting.
Perhaps today’s modern day first women could take heart from this example and try to bring a halt to all this gratuitous violence.
That is definitely not going to work. Back to the drawing board.
Anyone else have any good ideas?
