Casualties of War

Marla Ruzicka, on the right, in Baghdad on April 15. Two days later Marla, who was in Iraq attempting to document casualties of the war, died in a car bombing.

She was a pretty amazing girl, and it would be well worth your time to read a little bit about her. You can also watch a short video of her made while she was still alive. It is entitled "Glimpses of Marla".

I guess we can just add her death to the U. S. and coalition troop fatalties since the beginning of the Iraq War on March 20th, 2003.

(However, this linked flash animation map will not be able to show you the additional 50,000 - 100,000 Iraqi civilian deaths which have occurred in the very same time period.)

These everyday tragedies get precious little publicity in the big time media. Americans are almost numb to the astounding number of casualties that result from this "war" and the profiteering of the powers that be. So disheartening.

Maria was an amazing woman.

What a wonderful woman.

Hmm, wonder where the "Liberal Medias" fondess for blondes went went it comes to the death of this heroic, driven, passionate, lovely woman?

Tragic... She was a true hero.

I was going to comment on this when you put it up the other night but I was really too upset. Another precious life snuffed out for greed and oil.

If I could line them up and shoot them all..the asshats in the WH..I would feel better but what good would it serve?
