Election Update

As of 10:00pm EST Joseph Lieberman lagged with 48 percent, or 70,337 votes, to political novice Ned Lamont's 52 percent, or 76,347 votes, with 55 percent of precincts reporting.

An important message has just been sent out, when a Democrat who strongly supports the Iraq War has this much trouble maintaining his Senate seat. I think we will see more of this type of sentiment as the 2006-midterm elections continue.

I have little doubt in my mind that Joe will now run as an independent and win, but he will have to do it with Republican votes.

If Joe wins as an independent the Democratic party leadership should make him sit with the Republicans. How he could run now after his party has clearly rejected him is a raw case of pure ego. Or the fact the that Elmer Fudd, my personal view of him, does not feel he is employable as anything else but a leech on the government dole.

That's because he's a Republican operative. He'll be the Raph Nader and sabotage a crucial Democratic victory by drawing votes away. I love the way the republicans spun it, don't you? The 'hard left' will discard anyone who doesn't tow the liberal line. (Pronouce 'liberal' with as much disgusting saliva as possible, please, all you unpatriotic weak-kneed peace-mongers!)

And who's money? If he doesn't find some money somewhere he is only going to be running to the loo.
